Helpful Items Found

Now that I am working, I am searching for things to cook that aren't hard to do. Last year on our Daniel Fast, I cooked everything, looked at every label and did not use it even if it had the Item in the Can that keeps the color.

Last night while shopping I found some items that might be useful to other too depending upon how far you are taking

Wheat Tortillas

One thing we like is Wheat Tortillas with Peanut Butter warmed up in the microwave. I love Peanut Butter and Banana smashed together and that is good on a Wheat Tortilla for breakfast or like a sandwich. Bake some apples in the oven with cinnamon and then put in a wheat tortilla for an apple pie.

Use my recipe below and bake in the oven for some wheat chips. Great with salsa.

HELP! WHAT CAN I EAT?

The Daniel Fast sometimes scares people because when you read it, you think there is nothing you can eat except raw veggies and fruit. Fresh fruit is very costly these days. Although I'd like to eat fresh fruit and veggies, I have to think about my budget also. Here are some things that I have found that keep you on the Daniel Fast and your budget.

Dole Mandarin Oranges in Can Fruit Section
Dole Pineapple
Libby's Pears
Lucky Applesauce
Bush Black Beans (Can Veggies)
Green Giant Niblets (Can Veggies)
Hunts Tomatoes (Whole, Puree, Tomato Paste)
Dole has 100% Juices in the Cold Juice Section
Frozen Strawberries
Frozen Peaches
Frozen Vegetables - NOTHING ADDED - plain
Wheat Tortillas
Santitas Tortilla Chips
50/50 Peanut Butter or All Natural

When you shop, what you're looking for is ALL NATURAL or in its own juices - not concentrate, no additives like sugar, and not in light syrup. Maybe some of this will help you the next time you go to the store.

One other thing, Olive Oil is costly. If you can't afford the olive oil, although, it is better for you, use Canola Oil or Corn Oil - Not Vegetable Oil (has additives and may not be 100% vegetable). Use the Olive Oil in your salad dressings.
